Description
Summary:As a country with vast forest expanse, Indonesia has a fairly high rate of deforestrasi i.e. 610.375 .92 ha per year. The existence of hot spots which is associated with anoccurrence a forest fire being the main concern. During these observations were performed using the hotspot Terra and Aqua MODIS satellite. This satellite having resolusi time 16 hours and less well to monitor the hot spots continuously. To overcome the obstacles, in research is used satellite mtsat with resolutions of an hour. Split Windows method is used to generate the type of clouds from MTSAT image. This method uses several channels wave simultaneously to know the types of clouds.Identifying the hotspots is done by using the WF_ABBA method to make adjustments on a threshold temperature of MTSAT.The results obtained on this research is knowing the kind of clouds that interfere with the detection of hotspots, that is kind of thick clouds cumulonimbus, stratocumulus and stratus. While the types of clouds that do not interfere with the detection of hot spots are clouds cumulus on a local scale and a cirrus clouds. For the detection of hot spots, threshold temperature used in bright conditions is T4 > 315 K , T11 > 280 K and ΔT(T11 – T4) > 10 K. Threshold temperature that is used on a thin overcast

conditions was T4 > 305 K , T11 > 280 K and ΔT(T11 – T4) > 10 K. Threshold temperature that is used on a thick overcast conditions (Sc and St) is the T4 > 300 K ,T11 > 275 K and ΔT(T11 – T4) > 15 K.
