Some areas in Medan allegedly took excessive groundwater, one of kawasan industri medan (KIM). KIM recorded as highest groundwater users (58%) and the rest scattered in various regions in North Sumatra. Intake of the groundwater potentially cause of land subsidence (lost displacement) in Medan, so that is necessary research to monitor land subsidence in that region. InSAR is one of methods to monitor land subsidence for a large area. This method compares the results of the acquisition phase and SAR satellite imagery in the same area but at different times. In this study, ALOS PALSAR SAR data October 20th 2009, July 23th2010, September7th 2010, and January 23rd 2011 is used for the formation of the interferogram. Topographic phase which still attached to the interferogram is removed by the process of dual pass differential InSAR. Digital Elevation Model (DEM) SRTM 3'' is used to release the topography phase. The results of data processing showed the highest lost displacement in the period October 2009 - July 2010 at least 7 cm, the period October 2009 – October 2010 at least 9 cm and the period September 2010 - January 2011 at least 3 cm. Lost displacement is suspected due to the excessive exploitation of groundwater. text
