USULAN PERBAIKAN PROSES PELAYANAN PEMBUATAN STNK BARU DAN PERPANJANGAN STNK PADA KANTOR SAMSAT XYZ.

In providing its services, the Office of SAMSAT XYZ follows a joint instruction of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs. and the Ministry of Finance ( Number INS/03/M/X/1999, Number 28 1999, and Number 6/IMK.014/1999). Officers of SAMSAT XYZ consist of those from the Directorate of Traffic of the local Police Department, the Provincial Finance Office, and a branch of a local insurance company (PT. AK Jasa Raharja). <br /> <br /> Currently, the process of completing new SINK ( vehicle number license) and the process of one-year extension of STNK take a longer time than it should be. This final project attempts to identify various aspects that may cause such a delay, using a fishbone or cause-and-effect diagram. By doing so, we expect that possible causes can be identified, and potential improvements can be suggested. From the fact-finding conducted, we show that causes of processing delays for completing new STNK are identical with those for one-year extension of SINK. The factors impinging those delays can be classified into human, facilities, organization and management, working environment. The proposed improvement for the completion of new SINK and the one-year extension of SINK can he done through eliminating or combining several work elements, in particular the elements of registration, and research and registration of vehicle identification conducted manually by policemen. Therefore, we recommend the use of an integrated information system called \\\'SIM REGIDENT\\\" among offices of SAMSAT XYZ. We expect that the use of such an information system will enable to shorten the processing time for both the completion of new SINK and the one-year extension of STNK
