Description
Summary:Leachate that comes from a landfill might become a serious problem since it may contaminate water sources of the residents living near the landfill area. A sample

case of leachate contamination on local water sources can be found at Bantar Gebang landfill, Bekasi, West Java. The leachate percolation itself is principally

influenced by rainfall over the landfill area. The objective of this research is to do further investigation on how much the influence of rainfall on leachate concentration change at Bantar Gebang landfill. In this research, the parameter that will be studied is only COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) concentration

within the leachate. The method used is by doing numerical simulation using hydrodynamics models, namely MODFLOW and MT3DMS. The results show that COD concentration change form negative linier function and has a negative correlation (-0.68) with rainfall. This means the higher the rainfall, the change of COD concentration is lower and vice versa
