Currently the determination of distributors and retailers is local government responsibility by publishing the business licence. In its practice local government often do not consider whether distributor numbers in their area are sufficient to ensure subsidized fertilizer distribution. Number and location of distribution actor warehouse is greatly affecting the selling price of subsidized fertilizer at the farm level. Based on pleminary research, the distribution portion of each distributor in West Java was varying. One area has a bigger portion but in another has a smaller portion. This condition can cause additional costs to distribute subsidized fertilizer, especially in the area of small portion of distribution. <br /> <br /> <br /> The purpose of this research is to determine the optimum number and location of subsidized fertilizer distributor warehouse in a region. The developed model adapted to the characteristics distribution of subsidized fertilizer with performance criteria to minimize the total cost. The model was developed based on the model of Gendron and Semet (2008) which is to determine the location of the warehouse facility. Model solution in this research is using Integer Linear Programming (ILP) with the help of Lingo software version 9.0. Based on test result it was proposed to open 2 (two) distributors with a total cost of Rp. 1.275.520.000. Compared to existing conditions, the proposed model can save up to 75% of the previous results. In the existing conditions in each district warehouse distributors were opened. text |
