Under Article 76 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982 a coastal state has the right of the Continental Shelf beyond distance of 200 nautical miles measured from the baseline. Indonesia as an archipelago country as well as the coastal state has the opportunity to make a submission to the CLCS (Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf) and endorsed the extended continental shelf in the country. For this purpose, hydrographic survey activities should be carried out for determination of the extended continental shelf, and up to now there is no specific technical specifications for the determination of the extended continental shelf in Indonesia. The methodology used in the production of this paper is with literature study that included a literature search activities that can provide information regarding the extended continental shelf, the technical specifications that can be a reference for <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> conducting hydrographic surveys and designing hydrographic survey technical specification obtained from scientific journals, text book , as well as electronic media. A technical specification is obtained from the research that has been done, and the technical specification can be used as a reference and guidance in the implementation of hydrographic surveys for the determination of the extended continental shelf in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Indonesia, so the hydrographic survey activities in the purposes of determination the extended continental shelf can be conducted with optimal, effective and efficient. text |
