Summary: | Bungalun area is located at the north part of the Kutai Basin which is bounded by Bungalun River on the south. Kutai Basin is dominated by delta sediment, while most of research area a shallow to deep marine environments.

There are four wells used in the study, namely Batuhidup-1, Kariorang-1, Sekurau-1 and Sembulu-1.

The DST and RFT-1 results from Kaliorang-1, Sembuluh-1 and Sekurau-1 wells indicated that these wells were in overpressure conditions. Overpressure conditions were also shown by the drilling mud weight data, wireline log analysis of claystone and drilling events. The presence of overpressure was encountered at shallow depths, between 2000 feet to 3000 feet. The cause of overpressure was non-loading mechanism. The plot with

Dutta Method show that the presence of illite minerals began to occur at the depth of about 1000 ft. It could cause volume increase of fluid in the formation. In

addition, the maturity data of hydrocarbon suggested there were some connections between the peak of maturity zones and the overpressure zone. The estimate of

overpressure with Eaton Method showed that the suitable constants rank is 0.7 to 1.7. |
