ANALYSIS OF THE DISSEMINATION OF SMOKE ON THE FIRE FOREST IN REGION OF RIAU ON EL NINO-LA NINA CONDITION

This research aims to analyze the influence of meteorological conditions for the dissemination of forest fire haze in Riau Province by using HYSPLIT (Hybrid Single – Particle Lagrangian Trajectory) which can describe the pattern of the smoke dissemination and trajectory from 2002 – 2013. Preci...

Precipitation anomaly data is used as the main simulation parameters that apply the meteorological condition associated with ENSO (El Nino-Southern Oscillation) in January and October. The simulation result of those second conditions is composited into three conditions El Nino, La Nina and Neutral. Precipitation anomaly data which correlated with an index of ENSO and forest fire data show that ENSO phenomena have affected the dissemination of smoke in January and October. The simulation results indicate periods of El Nino extends in January amounted to 2,010 million square kilometers, and in October amounted to 1.580 million square kilometers. While the values for the concentration of the El Nino period in January of 478 x 10-10 μg/m3 and in October of 540 x 10-10 μg/m3. Trajectory on El Nino conditions towards the dominant distribution toward the South China Sea. The main cause of the smoke distribution patterns and the length of trajectory allegedly associated with precipitation anomalies. The low intensity of rainfall, relative humidity and wind factors on El Niño conditions cause widespread area distribution patterns compared to the La Nina conditions and Normal. text
