Summary:Teluk Kijing swampland region is a non tidal swamp area locates in Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera Province. <br /> <br /> <br /> The objective of this study is to arrange and evaluate the drainage system in Teluk Kijing swampland Reclaimed Area in order to increase land productivity in use for cultivation of paddy. Whereas the aim of this study is to make the best use of Teluk Kijing swampland reclamation network as agricultural land with the most suitable water system and adapted to lowland conditions, and to develop unused land that is potentially to be productive land base on environtmentally concept and involved the participation of farmers live in settlement area of Teluk Kijing village. <br /> <br /> <br /> The design of drainage discharge isplied to calculate the dimension of drainage channel that able to convey excess of water caused rainfall happens, whereas the analysis of design flood is used to determine the ideal elevation of embankment so that the land can be protected toward flood occurance in wet season. Hydraulic modeling of drainage channel was conducted by using HEC-RAS 3.1.3 program to checked the performance of channel network dimension. <br /> <br /> <br /> The land in study area is suitable for rainfed cultivation with one time cropping pattern after rainy season because ther is only a few farmers and the function of drainage network is not optimally yet. It need to bulid some tertiary drainage channel with stop log to maintain water level at land in dry season. The embankment is design to get elevation + 10,05 m to protect 25 years return period of flood discharge from Musi river.
