Summary: | The telecommunication industry is a highly competitive industry in Indonesia. Each year, the competition on this industry is getting faster and tighter. This is caused by the fast development of science and technology. PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia (PT. Telkom) is a state-owned company that engaged in this industry. To maintain its position as market leader in telecommunications industry, PT. Telkom transforms their company from the InfoCom company into TIMES Business Company. This transformation also supported by the organizational changes in PT. Telkom. Based on survey results Telkom Employee Survey (TES) in 2011, the employee satisfaction level in PT. Telkom was categorized high but, this achievement is not supported by the company’s performance. Based on PT. Telkom’s internal report in 2011, only 9 of 69 T-lab areas that able to meet their performance targets. This survey report was confirmed by Theme O Meter (TOM) survey in 2011, that show the level of Telkom’s 5C application is hasn’t meet the corporate target. According to Daft (2009), this condition is caused by ineffective organization. According to Right Management (2010), The organization effectiveness can be enhanced by increasing the level of employee engagement.This research focused on measuring the level of employee engagement at PT. Telkom by using a questionnaire survey that composed using the combination of several theories that related with the employee engagement theory. All questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive analysis, independent variable analysis, dependent variable analysis, engagement measurement, multiple linear regression analysis and focused issue analysis. Tools that used to analyze on this research are SPSS 13 and Microsoft Excel 2010. The result from the questionnaire analysis show that the most influencing factor to employee engagement is the collaborative innovation factor in PT. Telkom. Therefore the optimization of collaborative innovation needs to be done. Based on the result of further analysis, PT. Telkom is suggested to redesign the TOM assessment question, apply the TOM assessment result as the leader’s KPI, and improve the method and the weight of the score in 360o assessment to optimize the collaborative innovation culture. At the end of this research report there are the implementation plan for all this suggestions. |
