Description
Summary:Knowledge about tides is very important because of high maritime activities done by Indonesian people but the information is not sufficient. The needs of the information can be fulfilled by making co-tidal chart to analyze the density of the tide station from the global tide model data that can be used to predict tides. The map that is produced is the result of the extraction of tidal components. From the analysis, it is concluded that in the northern part of Sumatra the recommended interval between tide station is 82 km, 42 km in the eastern part of Sumatra, 204 km in the southeastern part of Sumatra, 14,5 km in the southern part of Sumatra, and 771 km in the western part of Sumatra. The tide characteristic that happened in the eastern parts of Sumatra have dense co-tidal, while in the western part of Sumatra the co-tidal are less dense.
