Summary: | Every social organization has a different business model in providing its services to the society as well as to maintain its existence. The business model adopted is derived from the chosen decision in strategic level. Kadam Choeling Indonesia (KCI) as a Buddhist organization in Indonesia also possesses its own business model in providing its services. However, the organizational development of KCI did not improve significantly. It can be seen indirectly from small annual increase of its members in which the present number of KCI members is only 293 persons since its establishment 11 years ago. Some weaknesses which cause the problems in KCI organization are its passive communication system and poor financial management. These weaknesses are identified through the analysis which used the combination of Value Navigation conceptual model and Business Model Canvas. To overcome these weaknesses, the change of KCI organization strategy is required to improve the existing business model, which is by applying the Blue Ocean Strategy. The framework of this strategy emphasizes on Value Innovation and eliminates competitive factor in formulating a new strategy thus it is able to produce effective solutions in overcoming problems in social organization. The application of those solutions improves KCI Value Navigation performance and overcomes the weaknesses of the organization so that the development of KCI will be no longer inhibited. There are six solutions to be implemented by KCI which are life course management creation, beneficiary institution creation, social institution creation, new Buddhism ritual creation, partnership enhancement with Indonesia Tibetan Buddhism Monk and Nun, and social care activity enhancement. |
