Summary: | Texture is a pattern, a picture, or the reference orientation of material. Texture can be formed from a variety of processes, such as solidification, plastic deformation, annealing, and phase transformation. The texture could tell how the material is organized, and usually consist of array of blocks of polycrystalline materials. Texture can be determined by using electromagnetic wave implemented in imaging method or diffraction method. The electromagnetic wave that can be usede are visible light, X-rays, neutrons, and electrons. This final project will described how to determine the orientataion of polycrystalline grain obtained from neutron diffraction measurement. By using an Eulerian geometry, the intensities of the diffraction can be mapped into diffraction planes {hkl} and its grain orientation [uvw]. In this work, the determintaion of diffraction planes will be modelled based on the lattice parameters and the orientation of the grain will be modelled by using MTEX toolbox available in MATLAB software. |
