Summary: | Metals ion in trace concentration generally involve a praconcentration step. One of the most praconcentration methods is solid phase extraction using chelating resin. In this research a polystyrene divynilbenzene resin (PSDVB) functionalized by 4-(2 Pyridilazo) Resorcinol has been synthesized. Beside structure characterization by infrared spectrometry, its retention properties has been investigated for preconcentration of lead ion in liquid solution. Lead ion is quantitatively retented at pH 6 with retention capacity 0.46 mg Pb / gram and minimum contact time is 5 minutes. Based on this retention capacity of PSDVB-PAR, this chelating resin can be used as a material in mini-column for Flow Injection Analysis (FIA). The result of preliminary study by using this chelating resin as a material in mini-column for lead preconcentration show that retented lead ion can be eluted by 1.6 mL of 1 M HNO3. Using this optimum preconcentration condition the precision value calculated as coefficient of variance and was found to be 7.78 %. |
