Description
Summary:West Kapuas River is a very long river and one of the most important river in the west Borneo. Maximum depth for this river is 15 meters and the in Karimata strait, the maximum depth is 56 meters. Most of the resident live in the coastal and around the river, a comprehensive saline study for availability of clean water is needed. This research used MIKE-21 Flow Model Hydrodynamics, which was simulated from 1-31 June 2010. Input for model is elevation data from MIKE-21 that was verified with data from DISHIDROS. Verification for elevation value between simulation and DISHIDROS shows good agreement with mean relative error 0.1% and correlation value 0.987. And for 0,1 psu salinity, the maximum range is 19 km from the river mouth in full moon state.
