Description
Summary:Solid waste is one of the crucial problems in big cities. Various attempts have been made to overcome this problem. One of them is the utilization of domestic waste as a raw material of composite materials, such as particle board. To increase the attractiveness of the composite material can be done some methods, such as coating with a fluorescent material. In this study, used the carbon dots material as a source of luminescence. Composite materials derived from domestic waste such as leaves, paper, and plastics as a filler and PVAc as a matrix of compacted. While the coating material was carbon dots phosphor that were synthesized from urea ((NH2)2CO) and citric acid (C6H8O7) with simple heating method. When observed with spectrofluorophotometer, photoluminescent spectra of carbon dots solution has emission peak at a wavelength of 457 nm and gave a bright blue luminescence. The coating process have done with a simple coating method the coating of composite material with mixed phosphor carbon dots and epoxy resin. The dry layer produce bluish white luminescence when under ultraviolet light.
