Various institutions tried to make inovation in order to reduce the CO2 content in the atmosphere that became the main cause of global warming. The deforestation that continuously occured all over the world has caused the absorption of CO2 increasingly decreased. Based on the research performed by Churl Hock You, it founded that seaweed, especially red algae, in large scale cultivation had big potency to absorp CO2 in the atmosphere and can also reduce the deforestation due to red algae can also substitute the tree as raw material for producing pulp. The main concern was to find the red algae cultivation method that appropriate for large scale cultivation. Samsung C&T Corporation in cooperation with Churl Hack You, conducted the trial cultivation of red alage in Indonesia as an initial <br /> <br /> <br /> stage before enter the large scale cultivation. The shortage of experience in seaweed cultivation, especially red algae, caused the ermergence of potential risk that could affect the company to achieve their goals. From the root problem analysis, founded that the operational activities of red algae cultivation influenced by the process, human and external factors that could cause negative risk for the company. In efforts to solve the problem, risk management process was conducted to formulate the risk management strategy from the operational activity of red algae cultivation <br /> <br /> <br /> that has possibility to cause the loss for company. The solution provided will includes problem identification, study literature, data collection, risk management process that consist of risk identification, risk analysis, and risk evaluation. The result of risk evaluation will be the risk management strategies that will be implemented in operational activities of red algae cultivation for 1 year period which consist of <br /> <br /> <br /> discuss the result of risk analysis with Cultivation Manager, apply the risk management strategy, control and review the effectiveness of risk management strategy, do risk management process, implementation, control and review the renewed risk management activities. Risk management strategy that resulted are risk retention, risk control, and risk transfer. Several risks that managed using risk retention strategy for example are mistake in measuring technical/ecological parameter candidate of cultivation area, records the sample's <br /> <br /> <br /> weighing result, low loyalty and integrity of employee, with proposed responses each are measurement to the technical/ecological parameter by measuring more than one sample, gives award for well performed employee. The risks that managed using risk control strategy for <br /> <br /> <br /> example are conflict of interest with regional government, the seeds was broken when arrived in cultivation site, with proposed responses each are build a good relationship with regional government authority, give a standard seeds handling to the seeds supplier. The risks that managed using risk transfer strategy for example are Red Algae attacked by disease, drying the <br /> <br /> <br /> red algae withouth using any mat or "para-para", with proposed responses for both risks is insure the Red Algae to insurance company. text |
