Description
Summary:Lokon Volcano is one of active volcano in Indonesia. Located in 1°21’30” N 124°47’30” E with 1579,5 m level msl. It has one crater located between top of Lokon Volcano and Mount Empung named Tompaluan Crater. Tompaluan Crater has 400 m diameter and depth around 150 m msl . Lokon Volcano eruption began in February 2011 until now on.Volcanic sign from volcanoes can be measured in many different ways. Deformation method used in this research. Deformation in Mount Lokon measured by using three GPS (Global Postioning System) station data from 2009 until 2013 with 15 second ampling rate. Data processing use Bernese 5.0 software According to result from data processing, there are contradiction of direction between two periode, 2009-2010 period, and 2011-2013 period. In 2009-2010 period, directions of vector displacement was moving toward the center Tompaluan Crater, which is assumed as center of magma, with displacement velocity around 3,1 mm – 5,4 mm per year. It indicates that there are deflation effect from Mt. Lokon magmatic source. On the other hand, in 2011-2013 period, as known as eruption period, directions of vector displacement was moving away from Tompaluan Crater with displacement velocity around 5,7 mm – 1,1 cm per year and it shows there are inflation.
