Project management is known as the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. This is achieved through the application and integration of project management processes of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing (Project Management Institute). One area in project management is the management of project risks. Project risk management is a method to identify, classify, and mitigate risk. Offshore project is one of several projects that require a lot of attention on risk management. As this project has a lot of activity in it, risk management must be implemented in detail to minimize the risk that may occur during the project. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Issue or problem in this thesis is the application of risk management to minimize the risk of the project THE PROJECT, especially in the construction phase. THE PROJECT is a project that is used in this thesis. Because the name of the project to be kept secret, the project name was changed to THE PROJECT. Even as the name of the contractor that the contractor's name was changed to COMPANY. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The methodology used in this thesis is THE PROJECT benchmarking with similar projects. Projects are selected for benchmarking is a project that has a large events, such as the explosion and sinking platform for learning from it. Benchmarking also projected excess of 30 years with THE PROJECT to find a comparison on the implementation of technology in offshore platforms. The results of this thesis is a proposed implementation plan based on lessons learned from comparisons with other projects PROJECT. Implementation plans mainly concern the construction phase and will be used as a repair for future projects.
