Summary: | Pit L2 is located at the west Lati Mine Operation (LMO). This pit was designed in order to mine the coal seam of L, M, N, and O. The mining operation had been started in the early of 2008 until then it was postponed in May 2009. This temporarily stops happened due to a lock of mine drainage and dewatering systems. In addition, there was no pond infrastructures have been built yet to deal the water treatment. The primary objective of this study is to design a specific dewatering and drainage systems which capable of controlling the water run – off and controlling the water quality during the mining sequence of Pit L2 in 2010 – 2011.

The designs would include conventional and inconventional systems. In term of 2010 – 2011 mining sequence, the designs would recommend the preparation of:

- Perimeter ditch on the highwall and lowwall over the 61 – 63 pit blocks.

- Two ponds which having the water treatment.

- Perimeter ditch on the lowwall pit over the 63 – 66, 73 – 77, 78 – 81, and 82 – 87 blocks.

- 1 unit of MFC – 420 pump to do the pit dewatering.

It is expected that the designs may reduce the discharging water into the stream as much as 1,70 m3/s from 3,63 m3/s, which this water would have been treated and controlled sufficiently. |
