Description
Summary:The research area is located at melange complex in Bulu Mareno area, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi. Melange complex is composed by various lithology that mixed in the scaly clay matrix. Fractures in the rock with specific condition can be accumulated by hydrocarbon. Data from surface is needed to become an analog of subsurface data.

Geomorphology at the east of research area are ridges with Northwest-Southeast orientation that interpreted as strike of bedding. At the middle of the research area are ridges with various orientation that interpreted as melange block. Isolated hills pattern at Northeast of the research area are karst hills. Hills at west of the research area are vulcanic hills.

The oldest unit in the research area is Melange Complex Unit that started to developed in the Middle Cretaceous when oceanic plate subducted to sundaland. On the top of that unit, Shale-Sandstone Unit deposited unconformably on the sub-marine fan at Late Cretaceous. Rifting period at Early Eocene made Sandstone - Claystone Unit deposited on top of the previous unit at transition environment. Then at late Eocene, sea level rose and the environment changed to shallow marine that made Limestone Unit developed conformably on top of the previous unit. Later at Middle Miocene occurred collision that made fold, reverse fault, and strike-slip faults. Volcanic activity at Middle Miocene, made Breccia Unit deposited unconformably on top of the previous unit.Fractures that developed in the research area are shear fractures and extension fractures. Fractures intensity that located near the fault zone is higher than fractures intensity that far from the fault zone..Fractures distribution follows power-law and present as fractal. Fractures intensity is influenced by structure and lithology.
