Kecamatan Muara Gembong Coastal Area is divided into two activities, namely sediment sampling and investigation of the coastline. The sample of sediment in Kecamatan Muara Gembong is taken by manual process. Sediment movement is happened when the value of actual shields parameter larger than its critical shields parameter value. In addition, the fall velocity calculation speed is compared to the flow velocity that generates the type of sediment displacement. The current direction <br />

is used to determine the direction of the sediment movement at the fastest flow velocity of high tide and low tide. Coastal classification is used to recognize the basic conditions and potential of the Muara Gembong coastal. The result of sediment movement and sediment displacement calculation shows the that it moves on high tide, meanwhile on low tide only three out of ten sample that indicates movement. All the sediment that moved suspended into water. After the observation occurred, Muara Gembong coastal Located on stable tectonic control, Located off back to the ocean, Has steep slope, Has Very fine sand, Its vegetation dominated by mangrove, Classified into Primary coast (mostly influenced by land process), Its ocean process mostly influenced by wave movement. |
