This geological mapping done within area approximately 10

square kilometers in 1:12.500 map scales. The research method is done by data

retrieval and laboratorium analysis to produce geological, geomorphologic, and

alteration maps, also to identify the type of mineral deposits that emerged within the

research area.

Based on tectonic setting, this research area is a part of volcanic-arc of

Sunda-Banda Arcs. The indication of mineralization in research area is predicted by

the continuity of mineralization orientation along Southern Sumbawa Volcanic Arc,

begins from Batu Hijau Deposits, through to the east, there are Elang-Dodo, Rinti,

and hopefully can be founded in the research area, Hu’u, Eastern Sumbawa.

Geomorphically, this area dominated by Volcanic Hills Unit, which

characterizes late geomorphical stage. Drainages patterns of this area are identified

as sub-dendritic pattern. The stratigraphical units are divided into 3 (three) informal

units, those are, from old to young, Tuff Unit, Pyroclastic Breccia-Andesitic Lava

Unit (Lower-Middle Miocene), and Dacite Intrusion (Middle-Late Miocene). Two

northwest-southeast trending dextral strike-slip faults named Nteko Fault and

Wadubura Fault, and also one northeast-southwest trending sinistral strike-slip fault

named Saridi Fault are observed as major structure in this area. These fault

orientations and movements are consistent with northerly-directed subduction.

Three hydrothermal alteration zones are observed in the Sori Nteko Block,

they are Actinolite-Chlorite-Calcite-Epidote±Prehnite Zone (Propylitic), Pyrophilite-

Dickite Zone (Advanced Argillic), Tridymite-Alunite-Quartz Zone (Advanced

Argillic), Montmorillonite-Kaolinite Zone (Argillic), and Chlorite-Zeolite Zone

(Sub-propylitic), the forming temperature is ranging 100O-320OC. Geochemical

analysis shows that Cu-Mo-As are associated according to the Pearson Method, its

distribution are controlled by the NE-SW trending Saridi Fault and Actinolite-

Chlorite-Calcite-Epidote±Prehnite Zone (Propylitic). This research area is identified

as high sulphidation related porphyry or the lithocap of porphyry deposits. The

possibility of porphyry deposits below the surface is indicated by interpretation to the

presence of molybdenum anomaly. text
