Description
Summary:Conflicts arise when people have multiple interests and they try to keep their interests. It becomes more critical when there is no agreement in fulfilling the

people's needs. Conflicts can be resolved if there is peace between the two sides with a particular agreement. As of this process, the results of conflict resolution

should be implemented. By the end of conflict, it does not mean that the situation can be back to normal anymore. Recovery of condition is a mutual responsibility within the aim of improving the lives towards the better future.

In order to end up the conflict, it requires an analysis that starts from finding out the causes of the conflict until the method of handling the conflict. The conflict

itself gives positive or negative changes in people's lives. Due to the conflict changes, it requires peace-building efforts with the aim to prevent re-emergence of conflict and create the recovery process. Development itself does not stop at a solution point, but it is an on going agenda, because the conflict will continue to

happen if something goes wrong or a divergence in the development process. UNDP (United Nations Development Program) as one of the UN agencies helps the Indonesian government in post-conflict development. In conducting its role, UNDP is implementing the theory of conflict resolution and conflict transformation theory, where both are an important basis to resolve the conflict.

These theories have different characteristics and each in its application. Apart from the application of each theory, the most important part is the concrete

manifestation in which UNDP's role in the development particularly in Ambon.
