Geothermal can be utilized as a source of renewable energy, with the use of Geothermal Power Plant. Geothermal reservoirs are typically located in the mountainous region, where landslide becomes a common threat. Those threat could harms both the company who runs the power plant and users of the electricities it produced.A study was conducted to establish a system to monitor the landslide hazard, using the geodetic methods. The methods used for this study are field observations and literacy study. The system was constructed by adapting a relevant literatures as a method of monitoring and cross referenced it with every informations acquired from field observations. The end result of this study is a Landslide Hazard Monitoring System which can be applied by the company to manages its assets.The Landslide Hazard Monitoring System consists of a classification of landslides potential, ground movement measurements using geodetic methods, and deformation analysis. This system will provide informations about the potential dangers of landslides which expressed in levels of ground motion velocity . Such information can be used by operators of geothermal power plants as a consideration to take corrective action before further damage occurs as a result of landslides and cause harm . text |
