Continuous mining system uses dragpick in its cutting process, thus choosing the appropriate dragpick is important. In addition, material characteristics must be defined specifically to choose the right dragpick to use. This research's purpose is to compare between homogenous concrete and discontinued concrete using Rock Cutting method and as a result, the appropriate equipment for specific rock cutting purposes can be determined. In this research, concrete sample is used with the ratio between semen and sand in 1:5, 1:7, 1:10 <br /> <br /> <br /> and concrete sample in 1:7 ratios interspaced with mudstone, sandstone and clay stone. One thing that is important in this research is to define specific energy of both interspaced rock and massive rock. Rock characteristics can be determined by measuring its UCS and its ultrasonic velocity. Greater points of both <br /> <br /> <br /> parameters mean that the rock has bigger specific energy. And from this research it can be concluded that specific energy of the homogenous concrete is bigger <br /> <br /> <br /> than the interspaced ones. As a result from this cut ability test, the interspaced samples produce more <br /> <br /> <br /> fragment than the homogenous ones. And not only that the existence of discontinuity in a mass of rock could benefit digging process, it is also enable us to choose the right dragpick. text |
