Description
Summary:Research area is located at Siak Field as a part of Central Sumatra Basin. Siak Field is one of oil field that is operated by PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia and one of the largest oil field in Southeast Asia. The purposes of this research are to determine the age, bathymetry, sedimentary facies and sequence stratigraphy of research interval, ie sediment of Sihapas Group.

Data used in this research are microfossil data (biostratigraphy diagram), well log data (GR), and core of YLN 1217, YLN 1068, ZSI 1093, and AGL 1341. Age and bathymetry analysis conducted using biostratigraphy data, while sedimentary facies analysis carried out by combining core data, and well log data. Sequence stratigraphic analysis approach is done by combining the three methods based on biostratigraphy analysis (age and bathymetry), sedimentary facies analysis, and well log (GR) pattern analysis.

Based on analysis result, this research interval was deposited in Early Miocene to Middle Miocene in Litoral to Outer Neritic bathymetry on deltaic system with sedimentary facies such as distributary channel, interdistributary-plain, delta front mud, mouth bar, prodelta mud, prodelta sand, and lag deposit. Analysis result shown the research interval have five sequences cyclic that bounded by SB (Sequence Boundary). The SB (Sequence Boundary) are SB 2, SB 3, SB 4, and SB 5, aged 20.4, 17.8, 16.3, and 15.2 MYA.
