The roads on this line can be determined to have exceeded its capacity, especially at peak hours in example morning and afternoon, much more on holidays as well as weekends. Public transport available today are still far from expectation that society chooses more likely to use private vehicles instead of public transport. These conditions increase the travel time, vehicle operating cost, as well as inhibit mobility of passengers and goods. It needs new segment to improve the transportation system performance in Bandung City, so that it can also increase the efficiency in undertaking the trip. The purpose of this study is to predict the travel demand for prospective passengers if a new transport mode was imposed and developed called monorail. By using stated preference method, monorail is objectively compared against the existing modes of private car, city transport (angkot), and motorcycle. The most prior attributes used in this research are fare, travel time, frequency of departure, delay tolerance, and time to reach the station. Through the mode choice model obtained using discrete choice model, the probability of passengers who switch from the existing modes to monorail can be estimated. By using binomial logit model for the middle scenario, the proportion of passengers to split using monorail is about 47% from car users, 50% from city transport (angkot) passengers, and 19% from motorcycle users. text
