This thesis is an effort to design Small Tidung Island with using ecotourism approach; a nature conservation based tourism activity. Main problem of Small Tidung Island design is the dangerous of abrasion threat (the effect of sea level rise). Several alternative solutions can be done with the restoration of ecological nature condition within island zone, both in soil and water. Some of damaged ecosystems are coral reefs, seagrass, and mangrove. This ecological condition restoration is achieved by a conservation campaign that will preserve and give natural protection to the island zone. Conservation campaign which done such as coral reefs rehabilitation (transplantation and biorock method), seagrass rehabilitation, and mangrove rehabilitation. This conservation campaign must be implemented continuously. Implementation of this conservation campaign will cost money in a big amount, starting from rehabilitation phase until maintenance phase. Meanwhile, the governmental budget can not be relied on for a long period. Because of that, we need a cross-subvention for conservation campaign funding, which can be established by an activity that can produce money continuously. Tourism can be an alternative solution, especially ecological nuanced tourism. This tourism activity can be established in the form of ecotourism which indirectly can containing the conservation campaign as its main attraction. In the design approach we need to focus on visitor management to preserve island zone to keep in line with the conservation for such a long period. Visitor management can be done by implementing special restriction within location, such as restriction of protected or unprotected area, or restriction of number, kind and timing arrangement, and visitor distribution flow which inline with visitor behavior.
