While the population data provided by the BPS is a census tend to be homogeneous and less informative. The use of satellite imagery to help making the settlement issue can give an overview on spatial and detail. <br />

Quickbird satellite images have a high spatial resolution. The result of processing of satellite imagery quickbird can easily identify the units and residential blocks. This is separated from the settlement bloc to non-residential blocks so that we obtain the unit residential neighborhood. By using the methods of the environmental unit, satellite imagery processed so the obtained map unit environment that has physical features (extensive, color, shape, characteristics, etc.). Sample Data from the survey results of field used to determine the density of each environment. So that the population of each environment can be known. The result of image processing can provide information on the distribution and density of population information detail on each housing block. |
