Summary:The study area is administratively located in Gunem Subdistrict, Rembang <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Regency, Central Java Province and geographically located on 111&#730;25’0’’ E - 111 <br /> &#730;30’0’’ E dan 6 &#730;48’0’’ S - 6 &#730;53’0’’ S. The geological mapping covered of 100 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> km2 area with a 1:12.500 map scale. The research method involves data sampling <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> and analysis in the research area with data processing and data analysis in the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> laboratory. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Geomorphological units of the study area are divided into five units, which <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> are Tegalwah Anticline Hills, Kadiwono Syncline Hills, Trembes Homocline <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Valley, and Demaan Flood Plain. Geomorphic stage of this study area is mature. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Stratigraphy of the research area are divided into seven lithostratigraphy units, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> from old to young, are Limestone which is deposited in the Early Miocene, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Sandstone and Limestone-Marl which is deposited in the Middle Miocene, Marl <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> and Coralline Limestone which are deposited in the Late Miocene, Limestone- <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Sandstone which is deposited in the Late Miocene-Pliocene, and Alluvial Deposit <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> which is deposited in Recent. Geological structures of the research area consist of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> folds (anticline and syncline) and faults (strike-slip fault). These folds and faults <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> are formed at Plio-Pleistocene. After that, erosional process created a morphology <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> in the present day. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Ngrayong Sandstone is a sandstone with loose material and rich in quartz <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> mineral. Based on granulometric analysis, the population of grain shows the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> dominance of saltation population. Based on data and analysis, this Ngrayong <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Sandstone is deposited at transitional to shallow marine depositional environment. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on petrography analysis and QFL diagram, provenance of Ngrayong <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Sandstone come from cratonic interior.
