Indonesia Theses INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/19296 CCAR ITB building is an office building located in a noisy environment and it’s near the traffic noise sources. Noise affects on the noise rating criteria

inside the building and can negatively impact on the productivity of the employers. Thus noise control is needed to improve the noise rating criteria inside

the building. Double skin facades system is one of several design methods that can provide the acoustic improvement of a building in a noisy environment. The

objective of this research is to obtain the double skin facades design criterias with optimization on noise insulation performance. Experimental method is applied in this theses and consisted of two type of

measurements; environmental noise measurement in the building site and transmission loss measurement in acoustic laboratory. The analysis shows that

Noise Reduction (NR) of double skin facades system is affected by the glass-pane thickness and the wide of the cavity. Then a 3D simulation software is used to

simulate the design criterias resulted from the analysis. The objective of the design simulation is to obtain a design of double skin facades system which provides the optimum facades noise attenuation, and

integrated with shading dan lighting devices, and natural ventilation devices. text
