Summary:Land acquisition maps in Kondur Petroleum SA work area are seen in 1989-1990 with UTM projection, but do not include horizontal geodetic datum used on those maps. While Indonesia is using national standard georeference, Datum GeodesiNasional 1995 (DGN '95). Therefore it is necessary to check the local datum used in those maps and the local datum needs to be transformed to DGN '95. Methodologies used in this final thesis are the identification of existing land acquisition maps (the old ones), maps registration, identification of boundary points on the land acquisition maps, and examination of horizontal geodetic datum used in those maps. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Identification of boundary points is done on Bakosurtanal maps with UTM projection – Datum Indonesia 1974 (DI '74), because Bakosurtanal maps with UTM – DGN '95 projection are not yet available by the time the research began. The coordinates of boundary points acquired are different from the coordinates on the old maps, because the old maps didn't use Datum Indonesia 1974. Therefore to obtained the land acquisition maps of Kondur Petroleum SA work area with UTM – DGN '95 projection, it is necessary to, assumed that the local geodetic datum used on the old maps is Bessel 1841 reference ellipsoid, perform the datum transformation from local datum with Bessel 1841 reference ellipsoid to Datum Indonesia 1974 (DI '74) on boundary points, perform the datum transformation from Indonesia 1974 datum to DGN '95 on land boundary points, perform the datum transformation from local datum with Bessel 1841 reference ellipsoid to DGN ’95 on the maps, and the verification of satellite imagery. After that, the differences in UTM projection coordinates calculation and the shift (&#916;D) of 4 ally points used as calculation control are compared. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on this final thesis research, it can be concluded that the land acquisition maps can be assumed as local datum with Bessel 1841 reference ellipsoid. Coordinates of the points of transformation cannot be applied for 1:1000. The said coordinates can only be used on a map with the scale of &#8804; 1 : 160.000.
