On improving its teams efficiency, there is a SCADA technology for production wells in more than 300 locations and target to achieve 700 locations on 2010. This effort is to reduce well down time by using real-time data, and improve production pump efficiency through evaluation to arrest production decline. The operations strategy for this technology developed under SLN is using i-field concept. This concept describe the effort from field instrumentation level, data analysis using the technology and an innovative organization. The result from field observation showed a gap that its operations is still on the level of using information to get realtime data, this gap need a solution. This final project analize the gap using practical problem solving methods with fish bone diagram tools dan 5-why analysis to get the root cause. While the solution business is developed using operations strategy matrix tools and knowledge management. And the last, on implementation of solution business is using modified flow chart from operational excellence deployment of Chevron business unit and supported by Naddler 12-actions steps, 6-element systems and Beer (1985) model. The result of analysis of this final project is 2 root causes, there is no reguler training and/or sharing knowledge; and ineffective maintenance procedure and operations. The proposed business solution is to improve employee qualification through training/knowledge sharing; and update maintenance and operations procedure. This solutions is supported with intranet technology as learning facilities and communication network with other business unit in global Chevron. The proposed organization is to establish cross-functional team with member from operations team, assets team, IT-PCN and SCADA Engineering and Maintenance. text
