Description
Summary:Waste water purification methods are commonly used have some weakness, such as in tub simple filter that require treatment periodically and only be able to precipitate

polluter in the water. Photocatalytic technology is able to use in purification process because its ability to decompose organic substance that is radiated by sunlight or fluorescent lamp. Photocatalytic material was fabricated in this research is nylon fiber coating by Titanium dioxide and its fabrication used two methods. At the first method, Titanium dioxide was coated use polyurethane adhesive as glue. At the second method, the nylon fiber was pressed after coated by Titanium dioxide that was dissolved in water. Examination of waste water model purification indicated the purification process using photocatalytic material first method faster than second method. Furthermore, photocatalytic activity of purification process used photocatalytic material second method that was pressed twice was better than the one time. Characterization of waste water models and photocatalytic materials showed the decreasing of waste water’s color concentration and releasing of Titanium dioxide from nylon surface. Rapidity of purification process was affected by polluter, surface area, depth of vessel testing, and arrangement photocatalytic thread in vessel testing.
