Description
Summary:The research area is located in Bantarkaret Village, Nanggung District, Bogor Regency, West Java, covering area of ±13,5 km2 (4,5 x 3 km), at coordinate 6o 37’ 11” – 6o 38’ 48 S and 106o 32’ 31”- 106o 34’ 42” E. Dahu Mountain and surrounding area is a mining area of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk that still continue to be explored until now.

Physiographically, the research area is in Bogor Zone, with a morphology that consists of volcanics hills in eastern and the ridge in western. Radial pattern river is dominant in the middle and some rectangular pattern rivers found in eastern of the research area. The valley of Cikaniki River with “U” shaped indicates that the geomorphic stages of Dahu Mountain and surrounding areas were in the mature stage.

Magmatic activity in the Early Miocene was deposited the Laharic Breccia Unit with flow mechanism, then Dahu Andesite Lava Unit was deposited conformably above previous unit with the same mechanism and followed by the deposition of Lapilli Tuff Unit. In Plio-Pleistocene the research area was raised and strike slip faults were occured in research area which were dextral strike slip fault followed by sinistral strike slip faults. In the same epoch, the interaction of hydrothermal fluids with the host rocks forming the alteration zones in Dahu Mountain and surrounding areas. The increasing of magmatic activity influenced the unconformity deposition of Ciparigi Andesite Lava Unit in western of research area. The erosion process which goes on untill now forms the recent landscape of the research area and the product of the erosion forms the alluvial deposit along the Cikaniki River
