Nowadays, music in Indonesia is developing relatively fast, marked by the newcomers in local music industry with varying genres. Among the development of music genres which vary following the era changing and improvements in technology, rock music is the one which still exists as an everlasting music through the ages. Rock music fans is never faded, they grew more and yet stretched out to all different ages. But the low quantity and the quality of the rock music industry becomes a problem in the commercial music market and it had a big quantity in the underground and self- production music market. Bandung, as one of the big cities in Indonesia which has been noted as the city of art and music because of the large amount of artist and musician it brought, had shown a wonderful progress in rock music. The fact shown by the increasing quantities of music education institution – either formal or non formal education; the increasing amount of rock music performances given by world class rock musicians, which have been held periodically; and the large increasing <br /> <br /> in people's interest based on the consideration, the rock music is one of the modern cultures that has been held for a long time ago and the must to keep the existence. To keep it alive, it's must be supported by the existence of rock music studying and performing facilities. This lack of facilities made most students in Bandung who wanted to learn rock music had been forced to study the autodidact ways. According to the fact, a rock music studying and performing facility should be built to support Bandung rock musicians. Also, the existence of a studying and performing facility would be a new icon of this city and strengthen the brand image of Bandung as the city which has been bringing up most talented artists and musicians of Indonesia.
