At this research, single crystals ionic compound are grown by slow evaporation method under the external electric field. The application of external electric field in crystal growth system is expected to allign local dipole moments, therefore, it could be expected that it will increase the quality of the crystals. Ionic compounds that are grown in this research are NaCl and Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate (KDP). NaCl crystal choosen because of their simple structure, which is cubic symmetric, so that could be a model for crystal growth mechanism, while KDP crystal choosen because of their non-linear optic properties so have been applied commercially in optics field. text
