Summary:Brussels Spring is a restaurant first came to open in 2006. Its specialty is Belgian food in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> dining and desert, of which they have been acknowledged since its opening. The restaurant also <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> offers various kinds of bread/cakes (pastry) that sell on location or by order. This restaurant has <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> developed its own marketing, operation, finance, and human resource department through trial <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> and error. In three year period the restaurant had succeeded to open another branches in Bandung <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> and two years later in Jakarta, both under the same management and investor. The restaurant <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> has been experiencing growth, where the demands had grown and the economy seemed getting <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> better. However, the business isn’t problem-free. Its issues concerns on the management’s lack of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ability to formulate strategy whole-fully in order to achieve the restaurant’s goals. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In the second chapter of the research, the writer would show the internal situation of the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> company and the industry or external of the company by using the internal and external analysis <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> to find the business issues and root causes. There are several theories/models used as tools which <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> are the SWOT analysis, Environmental Scanning model, Porter’s Five Forces Model, and qualitative <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> survey using questionnaires. From all the business issues stated, writer has made to concluded <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> the root cause is because the lack of knowledge and skill in bundling whole business strategy. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In the third chapter of the research, the writer takes the result into the second chapter to <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> later develop the business solution using EFAS and IFAS analysis. Later, the writer then uses the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> SWOT matrix and the TOWS matrix to formulate the corporate strategy and functional strategy <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> for the company as a resolve for the root causes as the proposed solution. The result shows, utilizing <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> the SWOT matrix into hand, a corporate strategy of growth strategy and, utilizing the TOWS <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> matrix, the various functional strategies. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Strategy implementation, at the final chapter of the research, is the part where the formulation <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> on the previous chapter goes into practical for the mean of implementation. As a proposed <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> implementation, the content is compared with other success story of other business.
