Summary: | The poverty rate in Bandung showed a tendency to increase from year to year. Bandung Social Service says that the number of poor increased by 15.8% or 13,299 households from the beginning of 2007 amounted to 84,287 households to 97,586 households in 2009. Poverty can be viewed in three aspects, namely economic, social and political aspects. In general, the causes of poverty according to the original cause is divided into two kinds, namely the external factors (market imperfections, uneven development, and underdevelopment) and internal factors (lack of capital, better skills, financial and natural resources).Growth of world zakat in Indonesia in the last decade developing quite rapidly. Bandung city as the capital of West Java province has many LAZ (Institute Amil Zakat) and the UPZ (Zakat Management Unit). From the perspective of urban and regional planning, zakat, and alms infaq has potential as a means of equitable and prosperous society. The percentage of Muslims in the city of Bandung is a majority, which is about 80%. Bandung residents generally work in the service sector and trade. In 2007, a total of 36.7% of Bandung residents working in the trade sub-sector, hotels, and restaurants. A total of 24.9% labor working in the sub-sector Bandung other services, which include general government services and private. In general charity fund raising such as zakat, and alm infak, charity is always increasing, and the greater the percentage increase from year to year. Increasing the amount of zakat collection average of 37.17% per year while increasing the number of total collection of zakat, alms infak and an average of 28.98% per year. The amount of zakat collected from the year 2005 of Rp 11,189,935,511.00 increased significantly more than 300% to almost touch the number 38 billion dollars four years later in 2009. Meanwhile, total zakat, alms infak and overall increased from Rp 17,686,851,408.00 in 2005 to USD $ 46,787,654,297.00 in 2009. Potential untapped potential zakat is estimated at 1.46 trillion based on the approach rate of zakat maal (wealth) and reached the figure of 1.9 trillion based charity approach profession, if the potential zakat could be collected it will be significant in overcoming poverty in the city of Bandung. ZIS management issues in Bandung include two things, namely related to problems or obstacles in the collection of Zakat, and alms infak and on problems of distribution of zakat, alms infak and in tackling urban poverty in the city of Bandung. If the views of the effectiveness and efficiency of the program, then the model of poverty reduction programs that feel the best is a community-based economic empowerment programs or community groups. |
