Traditional building is a building that become specialty in Indonesian culture that is happen because of trial and error process and become one of important aspect in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> the nation. Traditional building characteristic is not depends on theory and principle of building but adjusting it with the circumstance and climate around it. Traditional building has 3 systems; lower, upper, and middle system. Construction joint system is part of sub-system from that system. This observation created to <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> map construction joint system for traditional building in West Java by knowing the construction joint system, differences and similarity, and other aspects that affect in traditional building in West Java. In this observation, the detail in construction joint and aspects that affect it will be explored. This construction joint observation in traditional building in West Java is done in four different locations that are Panjalin village-Majalengka region, Cikondang village-Bandung region, Mahmud village-Bandung region, Pulo village-Garut region. This observation discussion viewed from three aspects, that is: shape and configuration, material and dimension, construction joint system detail. In this observation is known that pupurus system divided into four kinds, that is: pupurus system with dowel, dowel and rope, nail, and plain. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This observation can open the path to expand construction joint system that can applied in simple building that used wood as structure and construction and to give a room for development of traditional building that is protected by local government especially West Java for the continuation of traditional joint system.
