Administratively, the study area is located in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> the District Tungkal Jaya, Banyuasin regency, South Sumatra Province. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Geomorphological research area consists of gentle hills and valleys at an elevation of <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 10-75 meters above sea level and was formed by endogenous processes such as folding and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> faulting followed by exogenous processes such as weathering and erosion that shape the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> geomorphology manifestation that can be grouped into 3 units, ie Anticline Hills Unit, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Syncline Valley Unit and Homokline Hills Unit. The geomorphology of study area has <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> entered a mature stage. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> In Lithostratigraphy, the rocks data achived from outcrop and core/cutting in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> research area can be grouped into 8 successive lithological unit from old to young: Basement <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> predicted to be pretertiary (?), And then deposition of Talang Akar Formation from the Late <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Oligocene in fluvio-deltaic environment unconformably with the underlying formations, after <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> that Baturaja formation was deposited during Early Miocene in litoral-neritic environment <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> conformable with the underlying formations, after that the Lower Telisa formation <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> conformably deposited above it during Early Miocene in middle neritic, after that the Upper <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Telisa formation conformably deposited above it during Early Miocene- Middle Miocene in <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> middle neritic- upper neritic, after then Air Benakat Formation (sandstone-mudstone unit) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> was deposited conformably above Telisa Formaiton during Middle Miocene in delta - neritic <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> environment, after then Muara Enim Formation (Claystone inserts Coal and Claystone Unit) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> conformably above Air Benakat Formaiton during Late Miocene in delta environment and <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> the last deposit is Kasai formation (Tuffaceous Sandstone Unit) conformably above Muara <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Enim Formation in Beach environment. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Study area had at least three phases of deformation: at the end of the Mesozoic, the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> land was formed prior to the Tertiary basins. Occurred in the early Oligocene tectonic strain <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> generated half graben. Since Middle Miocene the basin experienced compression, tectonic <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> peak at Plio-Pleistocene. This deformation associated with fold and reverse fault with <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> northwest – southeast trend. This deformation is expected to reactivate the old faults with <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> northeast-southwest trend into a strike-slip fault. text |
