Surface geological mapping with in the scale of 1 : 12.500 and water geochemistry analysis on six geothermal manifestations were done to understand the geological setting and geothermal system occurring in the study area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The Jukubatu area is surrounded by three Quarternary volcanoes there are Mount Remas, Mount Ulujamus, and Mount Punggur. Based on field observation, lithology of the research area comprises of tuff, lapili tuff, and andesite. Paleovolcanic acticity in Early Pleistocene marked by the deposition of tuff in land environment. Volcanic activity during Pleistocene was increasing along with the activation of Ulujamus Volcano, Punggur Volcano, and Remas Volcano. These events delivered Ulujamus Andesite Lava Unit, Punggur Andesite Lava Unit, and Remas Lava Unit as products that were deposited conformably on top of the older unit. The continuous deformation formed normal fault that is relatively trending northeast–southwest. Alluvial Unit of Recent erosion is deposited unconformably on top of older unit. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The geothermal system of Jukubatu Area is associated with Quarternary volcanis of Mount Remas. Geochemical survey was done to understand the geothermal system of research area by useing water geochemistry analysis. The six geothermal manifestations are found in the research area, there are three warm springs, a hot springs, a hot pool, and a warm pool. Based on water geochemistry analysis from the manifestations, the geothermal system of Jukubatu area has one geothermal reservoir having temperatures of 200-210°C and 1.200-1.300 m depth. The research area has intermediate temperature geothermal system with 20MWe speculated resource. text |
