Summary:Site selection for the district capital is an important aspect that will affect the success of a new autonomous region, because of the appropriate location would impact both in governance and service to the community. The aim of this study is to determine the priority of sub-districts became the location of the capital of the district with the analysis of several criteria using GIS applications and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Geographical criteria consists of subcriteria slope, altitude/elevation, rock type, soil type and disaster. Land use criteria consists of subcriteria land use, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> availability of land and water resources. Infrastructure criteria consists of subcriteria for government, educational, religious, health, transport and the economy facilities. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Accessibility criteria consists of subcriteria road system and the shortest distance. Socio cultural and defense and security criteria consists of subcriteria of population, education, culture, politics and public order and security. The data were analyzed using GIS software in order to get a score for each criteria/subcriteria in each subdistrict then be weighted by the value based on perception of respondents using pairwise comparison. The final results is the sum of the value as the result of multiplying the score by weighting scores for each criterion for each sub-district. Based on the analysis results obtained priority sub-districts selected as the district capital as follows: (1) Pameungpeuk with a score of 3,463, (2) Cikelet with a score of 3,279, (3) Bungbulang with a score of 3,237, and (4) Mekarmukti with a score of 2,268. <br />
