Description
Summary:Observation and monitoring of the activities of Batur Volcano can be done using the deformation method that can be applied to obtain the pattern deformation, both in horizontal and vertical direction. This study aims to determine the pattern of deformation at Batur Volcano and its association with increased volcanic Batur Volcano in 2009. Deformation method used is based on observation points GPS around Batur Volcano using data from GPS episodic in 2008, 2009, 2013 and 2015 which will then be obtained pattern vector displacement each observation point GPS and strain pattern on Batur Volcano.

The pattern deformation that occurs at Batur Volcano is based on observations of GPS in October 2008-November 2009 showed inflation with a pattern of vector displacement observation points GPS dominant toward the outside of Batur Volcano with a direction that looks circular and strain pattern shows that the area of the north and northeast of Batur Volcano dominant occurs extension. This means that there is suitability to the seismic data related to an increase in volcanic activity of Batur Volcano from September-November 2009. While the GPS observations November 2009-February 2013 showed deflation at Batur Volcano with a pattern of vector displacement observation points GPS directed towards Batur Volcano and a strain pattern shows that the area of Batur Volcano happened compression.
