The CRS method introduce three additional variable that need to be determined called the CRS attributes. To find these additional parameters, CRS method employs a cascaded multi-atributes search based on hyperbolic approximation of the reflection traveltime surface. This is done by first do the automatic CMP stack, then followed by plane wave search, hyperbolic search and optimization. By this method, global optimization is required in each search stage. This thesis propose an alternative startegy, a direct CRS atributes search method is presented. The strategy is implemented by refomulating the CRS suitable for direct inversion of multi-atributes. Only one global optimization is required to determine the three addtional parameters by applying this method. The result then tested for 2D synthetic seismic data set and shows that direct CRS atributes search method is in agreement with the cascaded, multi-stage search, yet needs reasonable faster computing time although it considerably give a better results. The continuity of the reflector from direct methods shows better stability. Next, we hope to parallelize this method so it will have the benefit of modern computing technology available today. text |
