THE STUDY OF OUTER RING ROAD AND RADIAL ROAD DEVELOPMENT PLAN IMPACT ON THE PERFORMANCE OF ROAD NETWORKS IN BANJARMASIN

Banjarmasin city is a regional core centre (Pusat Kegiatan Wilayah, PKW), as capital city from South Borneo and as national gate and national core economic activity cities. And Banjarmasin city as important city in South Borneo Regional has a strategic position of geographies. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Growth of Banjarmasin city with all activities were followed by increasing traffic volume road transportation from intensity and characteristic of Banjarmasin transportations. Now concentration of goods and passengers changed to road transportation make new problems to road transportation like traffic jam at radial road into and out Banjarmasin City Core Area. Visually Banjarmasin city growth accourding to road networks. And there are vehicle high growth and capacity of road network can not be serve the traffic on busy hours. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Because of that problem, Banjarmasin government have plan to build ring road and radial road in Banjarmasin city for the solution of traffic problems. Incoming ring road in this research are the new road (lingkar dalam selatan) and radial road are Belitung, Kuin, and Alalak roads whom increasing the capacity. But that things not research in RUTRK Banjarmasin 2001-2011. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> This study try to develop two scenario in measuring big impact of performance of road network in Banjarmasin city as causative not build ring road (lingkar dalam selatan) and not increasing capacity of Belitung, Kuin, and Alalak roads (as do-nothing scenario), and build ring road (lingkar dalam selatan) and not increasing capacity of Belitung, Kuin, and Alalak roads (as do-something scenario) with use Saturns software. Output from Saturns software give suggestion like benefit (penghematan BOK) and result of do something scenario is recommended. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Base on research output hope to formulate the impact of build new road planning like lingkar dalam selatan road and increasing capacity of Belitung, Kuin, and Alalak roads towards road network of Banjarmasin city.
