Summary:Astronomy as the oldest science in the world, has a big role for a humans life. Especially in Indonesia where the majority is moslems, the real astronomy's role <br /> <br /> <br /> are the contribution in the determining of prayer time, qiblah direction and determining the new month in hijriyah. Especially for determining the month in <br /> <br /> <br /> hijriyah, the research done by observed the young moon crescent, and Indoensia has done it since a long time ago. Now, by advancement of science and technology, the moon crescent observation is no longer done with the eyes, but it has used the telescope even has used detector and the softwrae to process image gotten. <br /> <br /> <br /> Generally, the Moon crescent observation which is done in Indonesia uses mobile system or portable. With this system, there are some weakness, one of them is assembling the observation device takes a long time. The writer tries to make a Moon crescent observation with movement control system by using free software from internet. The observation is completed by observation supporting that is observatory designed especially for the daylight Moon crescent observation. In addition, the baffle made for increase the contrast and decrease the raylight in telescope. The test result of effect using baffle slowed contrast increasing about 13 %. The observatory design and manual of using the Moon crescent observation will be accessible by the public.
