Description
Summary:The research area is located in the district of Gunung Bintang Awai, South Barito regency, Central Kalimantan Province and geographically located on 294178.58- 301604.3 mE 9830431-9823065 mN (WGS 84) -50S zone. The research area is 55 km2. Geomorphology of research area is divided into two units geomorphology based classification Brahmantyo and Bandono 2006. Those are Homoklin Hills Unit and Alluvial Plain Unit. Geomorphology research area is included in the mature stage. Stratigraphy study area was divided into three lithologies, namely Sandstone Unit, Limestone Unit, and Sandstone-Mudstone Unit. Unit SandstoneMudstone deposited inter-fingeringly by Limestone Unit (Formation Montalat) during Oligocene at the back reef -back barrier. Then deposited Sandstone Unit (Formation Warukin) during Miocene at lower delta plain. Once that happens the compression regime west-east during Plio-Pleistocene made dip layer to west and strike north-south direction. Coal in the research area has rank of Subbituminous based on vitrinit reflectance and Subbituminous A based on ASTM 1981 by average vitrinit reflectance is 0.44% and calorific value is 11.131 btu/lb (dmmf) . Coal Potential measurable resources: 930140.95 tonnes, Indicated resources: 2.083.770 tonnes, Inferred resources: 2.390.745.9 tonnes.
