Therefore, a series of experiments have been conducted to determine the significance of sodium silicate and carbon additions to total metal recovery and recovery of each element (silver and copper), as well as to determine the rate of reaction control using some models which were introduced by previous reasearchers and determine the reaction rate constants as well as the activation energy. It was concluded that the addition of sodium silicate using constant amount of as reductor, the total recovery of metals and silver recovery increase. Furthermore, the addition of carbon using constant amount of sodium silicate also affects the total metal recovery and recovery of silver increase. It was obtained that direct reduction reaction kinetics iscontrolled by interface reaction rate (Spencer & Topley model) with the activation energy of 12.78 kJ / mol. text
